My iOS Development Workstation

code.raysantos’s iOS development workstation

The workstation that I’m using to learn iOS development consists of:

  • 2018 Mac mini, 3GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5, 32GB RAM, 250GB internal SSD, 3TB external HDD (hidden behind the center monitor)
  • AOC 27-inch IPS monitor. Model number I2757FH
  • HONGO portable monitor, 15.6 inch display, 1920×1080 Full HD IPS screen, sitting on top of the box it was packaged in.
  • Apple iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi, 128 GB RAM. Model number MK9N2LL/A
  • Logitech MX Keys for Mac keyboard
  • Logitech M720 mouse

Supporting workstation equipment:

  • Focusrite Scarlett Solo, 1st generation, audio interface (lower left)
  • Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 THX Computer Speakers with subwoofer (subwoofer partially seen behind center monitor, left speaker hidden behind HONGO portable monitor, right speaker next to iPad)
  • VEKKIA Professional Musician 3000K-6000K Super Bright 19 LED music stand light (positioned slightly behind the center monitor to provide backlighting at night)
  • Generic wireless charging station base (at front of the right speaker)

The workstation desk is made up of two Lifetime brand folding tables purchased from Costco. The taller desk is topped with 3/4-inch x 2-ft x 4-ft unfinished plywood purchased from Lowes.

When coding I normally listen to Relaxing Jazz Piano Radio – Slow Jazz Music – 24/7 Live Stream – Music For Work & Study on YouTube at low volume using a pair of Sony WH-1000X M3 headphones or TOZO NC9 wireless earbuds (when the WH-1000X M3 is charging)

For recording study notes I write in a spiral-bound notebook (the one pictured is from Staples) using a pencil (the one pictured is a My First Ticonderoga #2 HB)
