Days 13 to 15 of the “100 Days of Swift” course make up the “Consolidation 1” section.
Day 14‘s lesson is the second of three days of Swift review.
Day 14’s review lesson covered: functions, optionals, optional chaining, enumerations, structs, and classes.
Thoughts about Day 14
My new approach to studying the ‘100 Days of Swift’ lessons is to NOT watch the individual section videos and instead read the video’s transcription and enter the example code manually.
With my old approach of watching the videos I found myself entering the example code in a rush to keep up with the pace of the video, only to pause the video to finish entering the code and then re-watching the video starting from several seconds past. This rushed manual code entry paired with the video pause-rewind-continue sequence broke my flow of concentration too many times and I’d end up watching the video again, this time without any pauses, from start to finish. I’d then read the video transcription afterwards.
By reading the video transcription and manually entering the example code at my own pace, my flow of concentration doesn’t break and I find myself spending less time studying each section and retaining more of what I learned.
Today’s total study time: 1 hour 40 minutes
100 Days of Swift cumulative study time: 43 hours 35 minutes
[Note: those are actual study time values after subtracting break-time minutes from the Day’s study session]
